Beverly Jean Childress was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She passed away on January 26, 2025. She was born September 24, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her Mother Anne McDonald, her sister Betty, and brother Sonny. Beverly was united in holy matrimony to Arthur Childress and from this union, two sons were born. She is survived by sons Jeffrey Childress and Gregory Childress (Patricia), 7 grandchildren: Cheanna (Anthony), Destinie (Reanna), Joy (Andre), Gregory, Jeffrey Jr, Morgan and Myles. 9 great-grandchildren: Amaya, Anthony, Lacee, Armani, Amoria, Amir, Jayon, Javon, Jayce and a host of nieces and family members. As the Matriarch of our family she instilled faith, wisdom, love and compassion into each and every one of us leaving a legacy that will undoubtedly carry on for generations to come.

Beverly loved to travel and collect elephants. She had a deep love for learning and was an active member of the Miracle Center for Spiritual Living, where she took classes and volunteered. She was passionate about reading, puzzles, and participating in her book club. She believed that changing your thoughts could change your life. She retired from Cuyahoga Community College where she worked in Financial Administration.

Among her closest friends was Laverne Terry, who she had known since childhood. Beverly’s legacy of kindness, wisdom, and love will live on in all who knew her. She will truly be missed by us all. It’s not goodbye, but "I’ll see you later."
