Cleophus Blackmon

February 8, 1936 — July 27, 2024

Cleophus Blackmon Sr. was born on February 8, 1936 to the late J.D. and LuElla Blackmon in Marion Junction Alabama. He attended Dallas County High School in Beloit, Alabama. He was an entrepreneur who had numerous businesses throughout his life, including a record shop and a clothing store. A true ladies’ man. He worked for Chrysler and the Railroad Company. In 1956 he married his high school sweetheart Bertha Lee Henley, and from this union came 7 children. In 1957 he enlisted in the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. 

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; Sister Margarete, Son Christopher, Grandson’s Henry, and Devontay. Left to cherish his memory are his ex-wife Bertha Lee, children Brenda, Cleophus Jr (Karen), Deborah, Pamela (Keith Dulin), Henry (Michelle), and Jacqueline (John Jackson). Twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and twenty-five great-great-grandchildren. Nieces Sandra, Lou-Ella (Tommy), Sandra Watts, Floree (Leby), nephew Jeff, cousins Roy, and Jimmy. Along with a host of cherished family and friends. 

 His name will continue to live on with our three generations of Cle’s. 

 A memorial service will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10 to 11:30 am at Elizabeth Baptist Church 6114 Francis Ave, Cleveland OH 44127
