CONSTANCE R. GRINSTEIN, age 78. Beloved wife of 56 years to Sidney. Loving mother of Dana LaValle (Frank) and Travis Grinstein. Devoted sister of Sandra Fay Niven. Dearest daughter of the late Harry William and Lillian Livine Theiss (nee Gates). Adored sister-in-law of Samara Clement (the late Jim), and David Grinstein. In addition to her parents, Constances's passing reunites her with her dear nephew, Cordell Rand Fields.
Connie was a beautiful person, inside and out. In her younger years, she worked in retail and was even once an elevator operator! After falling in love with a handsome man she met at Big Boy, they later married. For many years they traveled the United States in their motor home selling photo albums. After a period of fifteen years together, they were finally blessed to start a family. Seven years later, their family of four settled in Cleveland, Ohio. Cordell, Connie's charismatic nephew, was the one who sold them on the "Rock 'n' Roll Capital of the World." It was here that Connie would spend the rest of her days, raising her family and caring for their home.
There was nothing that brought Connie more joy than helping others. For instance, if someone experienced hard times, she would deliver soup to their door. If a friend needed a couch to crash on, she offered a place to stay. If a stranger needed a listening ear, Connie was there to listen. She was very close with her sister, Sandra, and the two felt extremely fortunate to be best friends. Sid was the love of Connie's life. Through good times and bad, they adored one another. Their children, Travis, Dana, and their son-in-law Frank, admired her never ending kindness and generosity, far more than Connie could ever know. She always put others before herself. She had a great sense of humor and could surprise you with her catchphrases and wit.
Connie's warm and caring nature radiated from the moment you met her, making her a beloved presence in the lives of all she encountered. Whether it was offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a comforting word, Connie's selflessness and kindness inspired those around her to be their best selves. Her unwavering dedication to her loved ones, particularly her family, was a testament to the depth of her love and compassion, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
