DeForest died unexpectedly on March 20, 2025, and he was the eldest twin of five siblings born on December 2, 1953, in Cleveland Ohio, to the union of Maxine and DeForest Brown Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and older half-sister Gwendolyn Massaquo (Patrick). DeForest accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He joined and was baptized at the Shiloh Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church but returned to Shiloh until 2007 when he united with Greater Vision Baptist Church where he remained until his death. He was a faithful member and was teasingly called by his minister, Rev. Jewell D. Jones, his in-house Theologian.
At a young age DeForest married Anna Tucker. To this union Aaron was born. In later years he married Ledora Collier, to this union Chamika was born. DeForest attended East High School in the Cleveland public school system and graduated in 1971. He was an avid bowler and belonged to several leagues throughout the city. He worked at various jobs, his last one being Giant Eagle Grocery Store in Solon.
He leaves to cherish his memory, children Aaron and Chamika; his siblings Rev. Duane (Cynthia), Denise Thigpen (Charles), Darryl, and Deane; half-siblings Randy, Tina and Rev. Deia West (Glenndeceased;) three grandchildren Aaron Jr, Alexis, and Jaxn; stepmothers Rev. Dr. Cecelia Williams, Sis. Jacqueline Brown; aunts Mary Ellen Brown and Erma E. Heard; several nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and a host of friends.
