Evelyn S. Cunningham

May 10, 1935 — September 25, 2024

Evelyn Cunningham was born May 10th,1935 to the late Justine and Henry Woodard Sr, in Bellamy, AL. She was raised in a loving home with her brother, Henry Jr. The family settled in Cleveland, Ohio, where Evelyn grew up surrounded by close family members. Evelyn enjoyed sports in her youth, excelling in the 100 meter dash and the high jump.She later married Bob Cunningham II and this union produced three children, Regina, D’Andrea & Robert III. The family moved to NYC where she raised her children and supported her husband in his professional music career. Eventually, Evelyn returned to Cleveland to work and continue raising her children. 

She was a faithful member of The Church of God on Euclid Avenue. Evelyn was a diligent & hard worker throughout her career, lastly working in her own community as part of the administration department for the City of Warrensville Hts. under Mayor Marcia Fudge. After retiring, Evelyn joined the AFSCME, AFL-CIO retirees sub chapter #110 under president Marian Garth-Saffold. She really enjoyed traveling, taking cruises with family, as well as attending CBTU conventions around the country. Evelyn is survived by her children Regina, D’Andrea and Robert III, brother Henry C Woodard Jr, grandchildren Robert Cunningham IV and Shayla M Gordon along with nephews & niece Henry C Woodard III (Ricky), Clay and Grant Woodard, Raphael & Lynnette Rodgers & the extended Tidmore family. 

EVELYN passed away, unexpectedly, on September 25, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt as well as a great friend. She will be missed by many who loved her dearly.
