Rickie Foster was born November 25, 1952 in Cleveland Ohio to parents Evelyn Foster and Matthew Foster Jr. Shortly after celebrating his 72nd birthday, he unexpectedly passed away on December 11, 2024. He is survived by his siblings, children, several grandchildren, and a very large extended loving family reaching across several states including, Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Michigan and Georgia. Rickie resided his entire life in Cleveland and loved many things throughout his life and fulfilled many goals and accomplishments, both professional and personal.
He graduated from Glenville High School in 1971, and after graduation he enjoyed a successful career as a widely popular DJ known as “Slick Rick”. In 1978, he enlisted and served in the Ohio Army National Guard as a Military Medical Specialist. After ending his military service, he pursued a never ending thirst for knowledge to satisfy his high intellectual mental needs, which lead to him developing many high levels skills throughout his lifetime. As a professional photographer, Rickie loved to travel throughout Ohio and neighboring states taking high quality photographs for both business and pleasure. His love of technology lead him to become an IT expert who enjoyed building and fixing computer systems. He also worked and later retired from his role as a Civil Servant with the United States Postal Service.
After retirement, he spent his days as a professional Genealogist, proudly serving as the family historian while assisting countless others in researching death & burial records across Ohio. He also regularly contributed research information to BillionGraves.com. In his spare time, he was also an avid gamer with an impressive online gaming presence and was also was an extensive 20+ year contributor to WheresGeorge.com, a website dedicated to tracking the travel path of US currencies. Wherever he visited, Rickie always made a lasting impact on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him and his kind, helpful nature has inspired a wonderful lifetime of cherished memories. Although he will be greatly missed, his spirit will live on in our minds and hearts and he will never be forgotten.
