Roger L. Burke, 75, of Newbury, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 at UH-Geauga Medical Center. He was born on April 3rd, 1949 to the late Roy and Elsie Burke, of whom he was devoted to.
He was a graduate of Brush High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Roger served two years before returning home. He became self-employed as a building contractor and owner of Burke Marine and Tackle in Newbury. Roger was a hard working carpenter, race mechanic, and motorcycle enthusiast.
Roger was also an avid fisherman and even caught a record muskie weighing in at 38.5 lbs and 51 inches long. He also invented and manufacturing a special muskie-spoon fishing lure that he sold at his store.
He will be greatly missed by: his sister, Elaine Thomas; niece, Allison M. Thomas-Helton; nephew, Chad Thomas; great-niece, Macy M. Minnick; along with his motorcycle friends, fishing professionals, and other friends.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents.
He had a great sense of humor and wit that brightened any room he walked in and will be greatly be missed. May you rest in peace!
