Tillie Jennie Veres

Tillie Jennie Veres (nee Smetanka), age 78, passed away on May 10, 2024. Born on January 11, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, Tillie was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Smetanka.

She is survived by her children Robert Illig Jr. (Debbie) and Jessica Siudowski (Steven), and remembered fondly alongside her late children, Irene Novarese (Dwayne) and Christopher Illig Sr.

Tillie leaves behind her grandchildren: Kaitlin Courtright, Kahla Illig, Christopher Illig Jr., Amanda Neubecker (Josh), Robert Illig III, Cassandra Veres, Jon Siudowski, Audrey Illig, Andrea Illig, and Jacob Siudowski.

Tillie was preceded in death by her dear sister, Mary Jane Smetanka, and brother, John Smetanka (Patricia). She is survived by her siblings Pauline Skabar (Melvin), Stephanie Kufner (Bill), and Michael Smetanka. In addition to her family, Tillie was a loving aunt and friend to many. She also had a love for the Lord and her church family.

In addition to her family, Tillie leaves behind a legacy of faith and dedication to her craft. Her talents as a baker, pastry chef, and cake decorator brought joy to many gatherings and celebrations.

Beyond her culinary skills, Tillie found joy in the simple pleasures of life, enjoying activities such as sewing, embroidery, and puzzles. Her creative spirit and gentle demeanor endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 pm Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Olmsted Falls Bible Church 26581 Bagley Rd, Olmsted Falls, OH 44138. There will be refreshments provided afterwards by the family.
